Bear

Bears are symbols of wisdom and are often seen as guardians, teachers, and healers in Indigenous stories and legends. They are admired for their strength and ability to keep fighting, even when wounded. Many believe bears have the power to heal their own injuries, linking them closely to healing and medicine.

Mi'kmaq history and culture are deeply rooted in the natural world, with spirituality closely tied to the environment. Located in Eastern Canada, primarily in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and parts of Quebec, the Mi'kmaq people emphasize the importance of living a good, balanced life. They believe this entails respecting and protecting the earth and maintaining harmony with all living beings. This connection to nature is reflected in their traditions, teachings, and daily practices.
