Beaver

The Beaver symbolizes creativity, teamwork, and persistence. They teach us to be resourceful, value cooperation, and recognize each person's unique contributions. As a hard worker, the Beaver embodies determination, building mind, body, and soul in harmony.

The Ts'msyen people, a matrilineal society from the Northwest Coast of Canada and Alaska, are known for their totem pole carvings and ceremonial feasts. Their deep connection to the land is central to their identity. They maintained winter villages near Prince Rupert Harbour and returned to summer villages along the Skeena River for the salmon season. They have lived in the Prince Rupert region for over 5,000 years and continue to do so today.
