This piece of Indigenous jewellery has been laser-engraved, a meticulous process that allows skilled artisans to bring intricate designs to life with precision, durability, and care. From the initial sketch, laser programming, and engraving, to cleaning and polishing, each piece is crafted with attention at every step.
Created by Art Sterritt (Myanxa), a Gitxsan artist from Prince Rupert, BC. Art trained as a carver and printmaker at 'Ksan, an historic village, museum, and art school near Gitanmaax, under established Gitxsan artists Walter Harris and Earl Muldoe. He continues to create ceremonial headdresses and totem poles for the Gitxsan and Wet’suwet’en peoples, bringing cultural knowledge and artistry to every piece.
